Green Building Policy

 

On February 25, 2008, the City of Springfield adopted a Green Building Policy for construction and renovation of City-owned buildings.

What's Been Done:

The proposed Green Building Policy was presented to City Council on September 24, 2007 as Council Bill 2007-315.

Jason Hartke, from the U.S. Green Building Council, made a presentation regarding the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System to City Council on October 2, 2007.

Mr. Hartke also appeared on a TV23 Mayor's Roundtable, available for online viewing.

The Community Involvement Committee met on February 8, 2008 and recommended approval with modifications.
