Green Building Policy
On February 25, 2008, the
City of Springfield adopted a Green Building
Policy for construction and renovation of City-owned buildings.

What's Been Done:
The proposed Green Building Policy was presented to City Council on September 24, 2007 as Council Bill 2007-315.
Jason Hartke, from the U.S. Green Building Council, made a
presentation regarding the Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System to City Council on October
2, 2007.

The Community Involvement Committee
met on February 8, 2008 and recommended approval with modifications.
